Totally agree! It can always be bigger, faster, better, but I'm pretty happy overall. 64GB would be great...and you can never go wrong with better battery. It would have to be a pretty big jump from my iPhone 4 to upgrade. I hope I'll be able to wait for the iPhone 6 I just love that sweet Retina screen! I've never really needed an iPad but if the new ones were 128GB, and if (when) they have Retina screens, it's gonna be hard not to buy one. Bring it on Apple!
What I'd like to see in the iPhone 5: 1. 802.11n on the 5GHz band (because I get massive crosstalk from the dozens of WiFi users in my building making WiFi useless half the time. iPad has it, the iPhone should have it.) 2. a 64GB model. Come on, Apple, you dropped this ball on the 4. Apps are getting bigger, plus HD video recording and watching -- more space is critical now. 3. For the 5th year in a row, I'm asking: A real 5 or 10 band EQ. Presets are crap. Let me set my own EQ, damnit! 4. Flash. I get along mostly fine without it, but really, there are times when I really wish I had it. SWallow your damn pride, make nice nice with Adobe and get on board already. 5. Upgrade the A4. Bump the GPU to the current gen PowerVR and incorporate the latest ARM chip, maybe dual-core, as that's the next logical step now. 6. More elegant notifications. Not necessarily Android-like, but something less intrusive than a bloody modal dialog box. What we're most likely to see: 2, maybe 5. What I'd like to see on the iPad 2: A. Double the RAM. 512MB is essential now for modern apps. Having only half that is why we don't get some of the more fancy-schmancy graphics in some of the recent games. B. Move the icons closer together so we can fit more per page. Just one more per row and column would be fine. The wide open spaces just look wrong. C. Widget screen. Either repurpose Spotlight or make its own page, I don't care. Widgets would be nice and handy for at-a-glance info of weather, new E-Mails, RSS feeds, calendar, etc. Sure, this will take up more memory -- but then you could always pack the iPad 2 with a gig to make up for it. It isn't like main RAM is expensive. It's the flash that costs a bundle. I'd suggest this for the iPhone 2 but it's a bit small to properly mainipulate them. Plus, Apple always gives certain exclusives to each device, so this would be the iPad's. D. Better speaker(s). E. A4 spec bump, like the iPhone 4. F. Higher density screen with higher res. Say, 1280x960? Kind of the iPad's retina display, though the PPI wouldn't be like the 4. Still, as long as you keep that gorgeous IPS panel it'll all be cool. This would accompany the spec bump on the A4 and RAM boost. What we're most likely to see: A (512MB most likely), D (practically guaranteed given the rumours and pics from case manufacturers), maybe possibly E. If they do it on iPad they'll do it on iPhone.
2 gb of RAM and 1 terabyte of disk space. 20 megapixels of camera. A surround sound speaker. Fingerprint sensitive screen (for security reasons). 1360x1820 fking pixels. Bring it on Apple!
How about in 20 years lol. Apples only going to add a few updates/features every year to make the most money off of people.
iPad 2: front facing camera (not sure I want to take photos with it, so I could live without a back camera), higher DPI screen, lower weight, all models 3G+GPS, no wifi-only any more. 32 GB for $499. iPhone 5: back no longer glass. Improved antenna attenuation. Both meaning no longer need a case. Lower weight.
For me to get an iPad, I want atleast a front facing camera and an SD card slot. They already allow an external SD slot, there is hope.
Yeah, most of us know this won't happen, but it needs to happen. Apple needs to stop being weird and beef up their devices before Android completely takes over. All iDevices should be upgraded with better batteries, and slots for SD cards. And the iPad needs USB, and iOS needs support for widgets.
