Just wondering what GTA games people like. Personally, I like GTA: San Andreas the best, shortly followed by GTA: Vice City. I didn't really like GTA: IV much though.
San Andreas easily, it has the best sandbox environment of all the games, even after completing all the missions the SA world is a fun place to be. GTAIV dropped the ball with their apparent "bustling, living city" which actually had f*** all to do in it.
Yeah I agree, it was very realistic the city and the people were realistic but that was the only thing really improved on, less to do, less weapons and vehicles (with less variation) less customisation. San Andreas is damn good, I still bring it out some times
I actually liked GTA IV the most. I never liked the GTA series much, but I loved this game. I always bought all the GTA games in hopes that I would enjoy them, but I never did. Either the controls or the characters and story just didn't do it for me. I know most don't prefer GTA IV, but thats the only console GTA I really loved.
Went for Chinatown Wars as is the only GTA I can pack and put in my pocket going out. Moreover, it is nowhere worse than it's PC predesstors. I used to play San Andreas for pretty long time, and, although I enjoyed it's atmosphere, I find Chinatown Wars (and GTA III earlier) more climatic.
Yeah, I agree completely. San Andreas just has this awesome feel that you can go anywhere and do anything. There is just so much to do and interact with. GTA: IV on the other hand, was a huge let down IMO. The game feels pretty boring and depressing. Liberty City seems dull and empty, the plot isn't the best either, I mean having an eastern european migrant as a main character? That is just low and wrong.
I've never played IV, but I love traveling around San Andreas. It feels like its own world. It's almost like revisiting an old town when I play it. Also, I went to school in San Francisco and I used to love driving around the SF area in that game (I forget what they call it) and running people down and going on shooting sprees. It's a good stress reliever.
I'm surprised that people are selecting Chinatown. Honest question: If C-townWars was on a console, would you still prefer that to Vice City or San Andreas? Likewise, if GTA3 was available on iPhone would you still stick with Chinatown Wars? I'm not trying to be a smartass, here. I haven't played Chinatown Wars, and I'm just suprised.
Well I do remember some people saying that its been the only GTA game they have played, so it might be that. It is a very very good game though.
You sicken me... And it's not the only GTA game I've played, but it's the best. Then again, I havn't played that many, and have only played the 3D ones for a few minutes on a friend's PSP. It was definetly fun, but I didin't get the time to really play it. I've only played GTA1 and 2 and Chinatown Wars that much, and CTW is the best.
I loved San Andreas, it was the first GTA where I actually did some of the missions. I just loved the jetpack, parachute and harrier! You could have suh fun with just those. Vice City was the nicest aesthetically and had best soundtrack.
Totally agree. The fact San Andreas actually has a jetpack, parachute and harrier jet in the first place (along with dirt monster trucks, biplanes and bmx's) already shoots it far above the rest. Vice City did have the best soundtrack though.
Hard to pick one between San Andreas and Vice City! Vice City got great music but San Andreas got great personalities. The part when Toreno reveals himself to be an agent to CJ he said something like "communism in Ohio! people's sharing, nobody's buying stuff, that kind of bull$hit" very funny. Great voice acting!
Yeah, the voice acting is great. The plot is awesome too, it feels like a movie. I love cruising round Terra Robada the most. The desert is so awesome and I love invading that base, Area 52 I think it's called.
