Why do I always get a Photo Library area in my Photos section of the iPhone when I sync over a few folders to it in iTunes?

This Photo Library folder has all the pictures I synced over, in one place, which I really don't see the point in having.

Is there a way to take "Photo Library" off? Is it just a shortcut to all the pictures? Or are they all duplicated, and using up double the space that they should?

Thank you in advance, and apologies if I haven't made my problem clear :p

I'd like to know the answer to this too... I'm sure it wasn't there pre-3.0. Totally pointless in my opinion.

The "Photo Library" just shows all the pics of various folders in one folder. I don't think it uses double the space and i don't think it's possible to remove it either.

true, it's useless. but I don't put photos on my iPod..can't do anything with them except make it a lockscreen wallpaper. I don't anyone who stares at pictures while listening to music for 5-6 hours either
