Wow, i've been wondering why I havn't seen him around. Someone of rare character and respect from the community. Hope he pops up, probably got a life unlike us lol, or turned 18 Def be very missed.
Yeah, sorry about that. Hodapp corrected my mistake. Those sites didn't get banned/censored because unlike the "other" site, they weren't needlessly spamming and showing a disregard for the rules.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! What about the poor and severely uninformed members of TA that need his expert reviewing abilities?
Wow, I was completely unaware of this until I read the Battle of Wesnoth thread. I'll miss Big Albie's reviews . And that eatmosushi guy is-
EDIT: Sorry if this seems judgmental at first. I based this off of the speculations in this thread. Weird. I was just thinking today about how one day he is going to realize how much time he is wasting from his life writing reviews. Don't get me wrong; the reviews were good and helpful, but he really did need to back off. He probably spent hours every day just writing reviews. I had a similar realization two weeks ago about how I spend way too much time on toucharcade. I didn't post a lot, but I could spend 4 hours a day just lurking. It was too much wasted time and when I realized this, I began reading more, studying more, and getting out more. I still play the occasional game of Bejeweled 2 and post once in a while, but like Big Albie, I'm retired.
How can you say you're retired? You have 602 posts. You didn't write in-depth reviews like BA. He did it because he wanted to provide a fair review for people to help them decide on whether or not to buy a game. No offense, but you can't put yourself on BA's level.
Just the other day I was thinking about how it had been a while since i've seen a (usually witty) post from Albie. I always found his reviews helpful, and 9 out of 10 times the "Albie Meter" was dead-on. Albie, I sincerely hope that your departure had nothing to do with some pathetic little sushi-douche that posted a bunch of garbage in an attempt to sound cool. Well whatever the reason for you leaving is, I hope you return someday. Until then, I salute you Big Albatross.
Thanks guys for the thread...not necessary but appreciated nonetheless. The sushi guy wasn't my only reason, but he certainly made it easier to step away from TA at least for a little while. I still like TA and the job that Arn has done here, but at the same time, it's frustrating. The forums have changed a lot both good and bad, but lately, I've grown wary of the immaturity and sense of entitlement that's seemed to envelope this place. The excuse that "they're just kids" only applies so long, and sadly understanding why the world is the way it is. As for me, I'm taking a break from TA. Yes, I provided a few reviews to that other site, but like I said, only to help them out. I'm not writing for another site, and I may be back to contribute reviews again. But for now, I'm on hiatus.
Am I the only one that doesn't miss him? He wasn't like.. a God or anything, just a regular member that was talented at writing.
Thanks for the explanation BA. I'm glad your departure isn't completely due to the sushi guy... i sent him a piece of my mind via PM just for good measure though. Enjoy your hiatus, everyone needs a vacation from time to time. Hope to see you drop by later... if I'm around then. I've been getting a little put off from this site lately as well. Cheers!
No one is saying he is a God, just a solid, contributing member who generally speaking didn't post useless drivel. Why bother coming on here and saying that? As I said earlier in this thread, I'm getting increasingly annoyed with the immaturity that is pervading here recently.
I am... In fact here is my first review Gameloft's Driver: It's awesome! As good as the PSX ver. 1337brian meter... 4 1/2 Stars! How was that?
