Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana The Jonas Brothers The whole cast of High School Musicals (and all the makers too) Dick Cheney (evil) and Sarah Palin (crazy) (Bush wasn't that evil, just stupid. But the hell with it, he too) A few other politicians Bill O'Reilly And a few thousand others Edit: Stalin, though it might just be too late.
spongebob, not that i have anything against him, i just thought hed be a good person to roll down a hill
Wow, now I know who Fred is. No offense to anyone who like Fred, but screw kicking him down a hill, I want to kick him to the Moon! It seems like a lot of people want to vent their frustrations out on political figures. Very interesting, keep the votes & suggestions coming.
I'm glad i'm not the only one. Actually, i'm surprised I posted that before you guys (especially TBOH)
TheBeastlyNinja has quite a few votes. Any thoughts on how the character should look? Also should mention Apple emailed, "iHurt is requiring unexpected additional time for review." So we continue to wait patiently. Keep on voting and sending in suggestions! Mad Monkey Militia
That's Apple-speak for "we're going to hold this app out of the store indefinitely" A lot of people are getting rejected lately for apps that allow you to cause virtual harm or suffering to real-life person (or a sufficiently real-sounding person). Search for voodoo doll apps and the one where you push a girl down the stairs for a couple of examples, I don't recall the exact app names. I would be extremely surprised if you manage to get this approved based on reports I've read from other developers... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, good luck to you!
With Five Minutes To Kill Yourself! out now in the App store, I wouldn't imagine Apple would have an issue with cartoon characters doing slapstick comedy and running into objects especially since they don't die in the process. I mean, if Cartoon Network can do Suicide and make it funny, why not falling down a hill since it's utterly benign in comparison? Unless there is a double standard between a big name Cable TV Channel and a small indie developer?
The most obvious difference between Five Minutes to Kill Yourself and your app is that in 5MTKY the character *wants* to die. In your game (and others mentioned below) the character does not want to be hurt, and in particular the protests, screams in pain, etc are what really sets off the Apple-alert. Also, what rating were you shooting for? 5MTKY is rated 17+ years old, if you were aiming for younger kids that could be a problem as well. Precedent has been set in other app rejections: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=17344&page=2 http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=15531&page=2 http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=22768 All of these games had to either really crank down the realism, remove audio or visual indications of pain, or completely modify the premise of what they originally wanted to sell in order to get accepted into the store. These are just the ones I could find/think of off the top of my head. Never mind if you try to put in a real-world figure like the president, a movie star, etc. into an update someday. Those will also warrant immediate rejections. (PS- Drelbs- good Monty Python reference!)
Quick Dev update! Apple Approved and we didn't have to cut back on the game at all. We just raised the rating to 17+ and it was approved relatively quickly. Cartoon style characters, Voice reactions, everything all intact. Maybe Apple loosened their strict standards or the other apps above were trying to be 9 or 13+ and didn't want to budge? iHurt should definitely be the best Ragdoll game out there, with the most gameplay and personality too! Definitely keep up the character votes and requests everyone! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ihurt/id335584473?mt=8
Indeed working on one now! Been taking care of things since we just went live. It's been a crazy day for sure, but a great one! Thanks eggzbacon!
