My confession: i used to lurk the promo code section. But then I saw the other sections here and I realized that it would be more fun to discuss games than leech.
Game discussion. It was a couple of weeks before I bothered creating a US account to use promos, then naturally I went through a short phase of grabbing every promo I could. Eventually I realised the best games are the ones worth paying for, and now I rarely even enter the Promos forum.
I was looking for a good water filtration system when I stumbled upon this goldmine of a site, speaking of... WTF Has arn been?!?! 2 years ago he used to post a good amount, lately I don't ever see anything by him, front page reviews or posts... I hope he's ok!..

Ahahaha, oh god, the water filter thread. Arn is around, he just has his hands full with two kids, macrumors, toucharcade, appshopper, the upcoming appshopper app, and a million other things.
to be completely honest, i originally joined because i didnt know how to use a promo code and i realized you had to be a member to get some promo codes. but i proudly havent touched to promo code thread since that first couple mounths.
The thread title should be changed to save loads of posts to be "If you didn't join for promo codes, Why did you first join this forum?"
To answer the OP, I joined originally, like most people I assume, to find out about the latest games and whatnot for the iDevice. But now I seem to spend more time in the lounge, because I'm not as into iDevice gaming as I was back when I joined, save for the RPGs on the appstore.
I came here asking for help in starting a solo career in creating 2D games (like which are the best programs, advice, yada yada yada) which, by the way, is going rather well so far. I wasn't going to stay long, but I guess I'm still here because of all the funny members and the good discussions on the games. Plus I created the League of Legends thread which still draws me back every now and then. Same here, I didn't know about the codes either before I joined; which, I guess, is a good thing.
A) I thought this would help further my career in pyrotechnic dentistry? No B) With a name like toucharcade I got confused and thought it was a soft porn site for lonely men. No C) Exactly!
