Why doesn't Skate Nation have a "Play your own music" feature?

I have to be missing something here, because when I go into Skater Nation, there's no option to play your own music from within the game. Unlike Gameloft's other titles I've played, there's no option in-game to play your own music. Just a music icon that plays from the music list that's in the game.

Is there a certain playlist I have to create in my iTunes to be able to play my own music? (a la Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars)

Or is there some option floating around invisibly that allows me to do this? Of all the games Gameloft would give custom soundtracks to, Skater Nation seems like it would be the perfect fit... but for some reason, it seems like the only one of their games that doesn't have that feature. D:

Is there such an option floating around in the game somewhere, or are we restricted to just the game's music?

 

Any idea why that would be the case? That seems really counter-productive on their part
