Hi guys, I am just wondering.. Last year I created a keyboard for Android that has a built-in translator. It did pretty well, and since keyboard apps became feasible on iOS, I decided to design the app for iOS as well. It can be found here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/translator-keyboard/id1061001839?mt=8 I spent ten times as many hours developing it, to integrate it nicely into iOS, and focused a lot more on promotion of it, including advertising the app within our regular translator app, which is pretty popular. Results: for every 300 Android users, there is 1 (!) iOS user. Would anyone know what is going wrong here? I mean, I realise it is kind of tricky to install a new keyboard in iOS, and the need to give permissions will put off a number of people, but hey.. Some honest feedback would be really welcome. Thanks guys. Martijn
I think it's simply because the whole keyboard thing on iOS never really picked up the way some people thought it would. I wouldn't have been caught dead using the stock keyboard on my Note 3 a few years ago and swore by Swiftkey, but here I am with my iPhone and Swiftkey installed...but I never use it. Never. Literally.
