Very well made. Kinda reminds of Slay the Spire. Gameplay and handling the cards feels natural and seamless on mobile. Has a town building/unlocking aspect to it in its meta game. Also, progress is saved mid-runs. So you can safely quit the game during a run. Caution: During the 2nd battle, there’s a tutorial step asking you to recall one of your unit cards to heal them. But if the card dies on the previous step, you kinda get stuck there and need to restart. Need to play more to see how it all goes. But loving it so far. ste86uk and sebgo like this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #3 ste86uk, Apr 10, 2024 Looking forward to this one downloading. All other games I've checked (and the ones I didn't) are not as interesting or polished. Also, Chucklefish being behind it adds some punch, I suppose. Still not available for me, it'll be a few more hours until it's available and then some more until it's downloaded. As of now, it appears as preordered [✓] and I didn't even remember about it. Crossing my fingers it'll deliver, but from earlier impression, it seems to be on the good track. ste86uk likes this. I’m in a country where it actually is the 11th April right now and it’s not even out yet… Wish the appstore would push it all at the same time like I think steam does. Maybe even a countdown but I know that’s asking too much for sure. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #6 Brightsiderus, Apr 11, 2024 What about Lonesome Village? I want to support the devs and buy the game, let me do so right as I download it and not have it sprung on me in the middle of a run. So, again, how much is it and how far in do you need to go before they ask you to pay up? UPDATE: I just answered my own question from a blurb on the Steam page for the game... "We're trying out a cool 'try before you buy' model, which means you can play up until you beat the first boss for free - sort of like the demo we had on Switch and Steam. I didn't make it to the boss battle but I know already this is not my cup of tea coffee. I loved the presentation and sound; playing cards and moving units between lanes is intuitive and it runs without issues, but I don't think I'm willing to give this an extended go. Pretty cool game, totally worth checking it if you're a fan of deck building games. It seems as though once the countdown mechanics click, some devastating combos can be unleashed. I’m not sure how all this works tbh. What I’ve noticed is that it varies from game to game. Some games release in the evening before the actual release date. And some release many hours after the release date. (To match their timezone I guess) So it seems to depend on publisher to publisher. But I love the feeling of having a game preordered, waiting for the release date, only to see it pop on my device unexpectedly when I unlock it. The devs just released an update that allows the user to play the free demo (up through the first boss) or purchase the game fully right as you fire up the app. This is the best of both worlds as it now makes it very clear that they're playing a demo version, when the player will need to pay to continue, and how much they will then need to pay. solarnya and ste86uk like this. solarnya Well-Known Member Jul 22, 2015 907 287 63 Male Close to Tokyo, Japan #14 solarnya, Apr 11, 2024 Last edited: Apr 11, 2024 @LordGek Thanks for your comment, I could notice it's out too on JP store. I love the upgrade system and the main menu Ice tower. I enjoy the unlocks. Gameplay is fun and different enough from the usual card battler. Love the graphics too. Also made perfectly for the phone. Short play sessions, everything saves, UI on IPhone 15 pro max is great. Feel like this one will stay on my phone for a while.
