Sure, as i said, there are many useless apps/games on the store right now. This is what happens with an open platform, you can´t restrict an app as long as it doesn´t violate Apples Terms. I´m slightly missing the point here to be honest. Big franchises will not remove the existence nor the appearance of those crappy apps. It´s an open platform, anyone who meets the hardware and software requirements can develop for it. It should be clear that those are not the kind of indie devs i´m speaking about though.

I am not even saying that the indies will be doomed after the biggies decides to take the platform seriously but I expect the good and innovative ones to remain ( like Secret Exit ;) ) and the bad ones ( the ones of made all these variation of fart apps etc) to go away. Indies should not compete directly but came up with a different strategy and that is to innovate and leave the high graphical work to the biggies!

Yeah, I myself, was intrigued by A*s Whoopin( an app about beating a donkey). I'm not the kind of buyer that enjoys Bazaars.

You are telling me earlier that it's also the consumer's wish for the big companies to stay away! Funny that the last few post you made is in contradiction to your statement, if the consumer dont want the big companies they will simply stop buying their apps and buy the indies apps instead. The datas shows the opposite!

It´s in no way in contradiction to my earlier statements. My whole statement was based on the fact that, of course, the majority of people will more likely buy into strongly advertised brands even if those games may lack in quality. Big companies have the money for extensive advertising campaigns, indie devs usually lack the funds for that. I said the majority, not all of the consumers will do so, there are also those who honor quality, despite the fact of poor marketing. So those people of course don´t want too many big names on the store, as their appearance will increase the risk of developing a small game for the platform in the first place, which will result in a lack of small indie games. These are also the people who usually visit TA for information, but it´s for sure not the majority.

Frand, I actually see this as directly related to the topic. Better graphics will sell if it's tied to something compelling, like a story. This is part of the Ravensword model(chillingo only published) and to a lesser extent Crusade of Destiny. This is part of a process. Ravensword was an appetite wetter. They are poised for a great response to the second edition.

TA is growing pretty fast. Big Developers also won't spend the money without a return. There seems to be some debate about how effective advertising is. Where would you advertise if not on site like TA?

I expect to see a great deal more stick figures. EXTREMELY detailed stick figures.

my guess would be like MTV. adult swim dose a good job at promoting there apps in the app store using comericals. video games do the same. i do not see why they would not advertise in the same places they do now.

personaly i think it will be great to see big commpanys come into it. the small guy can compete. you see it now with gameloft, EA..

one game id love to see is renegade. man i loved that game. still have my copy somewhere.. my handle was sid186 for that game which i assume is still valid even after all these years. lol

come on EA bring us renegade! the vehicular maybe to much for the idevices tho.. pout. guess ill have to wait 5 more generations for the cpu power!

False, this is the top grossing list.

CoD: Zombies $9.99 while Doodle Jump costs $0.99, so for every CoD sale, Doodle jump sells 10 units,

What that list tells us is that Certain lower cost games are doing incredibly well to stay in the top lists among incredibly popular, much more expensive games.

    Your point is null.

See that makes sense. But what I see from your posts are 'this is from an indie dev so it must suck and I wont even bother with checking the game out because I know I'm right, even though this isn't a boob or fart app. I'm a walking contradiction"

    I ask for promos.

When a dev is like "PM me for promos yo!", I'm like "Yo your game is sick, dawg! Fling me a promo fo' sho'!".

At least that's how it sounds in my head, when I type it probably comes out fairly normally.

Of course we will, with the next gen iphone being released this summer with the possibilities of "the PowerVR SGX545 GPU which has full support for both OpenGL 3.2 and OpenCL 1.0 and can render 40 million polygons per second at 200MHz which is Speculated that this will be the graphics engine used in the fourth-generation iPhone expected this summer and or since the SGX545 also supports multithreading, and so could further maximize performance when installed alongside a multi-core processor like the ARM Cortex-A9, which has itself been rumored as the CPU that Apple will use in the 4G iPhone." quoted from Pauldanielash ModMyi Staff writer.

Devs are not even close to maximizing the true potential of the 3GS, I really hope Iphone 4g doesn't came out in about a year or two since I just got my 3GS for an arm and a leg :(
