Oh god. Now it says to me "You are over the status update limit. Please wait a few hours and try again." Hah.
I'm not going to be able to add more to mine today. Scan and chemo. bring on the barf bucket ( and my fuzzy bunny my son got me for such times). Someone needs to make a cancer game so we really can kill baddies while were really killing bad cells. Love ya all and hugs. If all goes well I'll see ya all late tonight.
Wow, really? And I thought I was giving myself a huge advantage by RTing about 30 times. HeadcaseGames: Maybe you should change it and put a cap on the number of RTs. Also, do the number of RTs that I posted, say, 2 days ago count permanently or do I have to RT again every day?
lacedolphin hope you feel better haruhi tweets count only for that day, the next day the slate is clean. I wish I could give prizes to everyone that played but I'd go broke! (well, more broke actually ) I know it's a lot of work but I hope the payoff is worth it. Also I hope a few of you out there get to actually check out my game too This is forcing me to not slack on my Retro Game of the Day reviews. I was going really consistently for a good 9 months and then started to drop off a bit (E3 was murder!!!) But now I have to be on it or the angry mobs will tear the flesh off of my face! I am actually trying to see if I can get a publisher interested in doing something with all of these.. wish me luck!! (haha, I wonder if anyone on here actually reads them? I keep them short & sweet for a reason..) Thanks for playing everyone! EDIT: As for the cap I was thinking about it, we'll see if it gets to that point but not necessary yet. As was proven today by PointOfLight, you don't have to super-tweet to win..
I have 180, I think it's a pretty unique take on the usual match 3 game. I really recommend to everyone!
I was also wondering about that. I think the point of RT'ing something on twitter is to get your followers to see it. Within reason RT'ing a bunch of times will make it more likely for your followers to see it. However its gotten to the point where I wonder if I'm actually losing followers from it. It you annoy them by literally spamming them, will that really help spread the word? I was hoping that maybe #180game would be one of the trending hashtags but I think I'm annoying some followers rather than recruiting new members. And since I'm trying not to lose all my followers I'm entering less than I could per day lowering my chances.
and remember to post daily in the main 180 thread to get an extra app too - PoL forgot and missed an extra win If you are feeling generous give a couple extra shouts in there as it really helps me to spread the word, thanks buddies!
That's what I was thinking about while I was posting that too. TBH, I only have about 5 followers, and I rarely use Twitter anyways so it doesn't affect me as much as some people.
good points songbird.. well I'd prefer more people put out less tweets, rather than the other way around.. but right now how you do it is up to you. I am still new-ish to twitter and trying to figure out the best way to use it..
I've been close to 200 (plus of minus 30) but I've noticed more dropping off after I tweet about the contest each day. I do about 6 or so tweets in a row and then my followers count seems to mysteriously drop. I know, its just that we all wanna win but lately I've been doing it at the expense of followers and I'm wondering if thats counter-productive.
Actually, I didn't really forget. I rarely visit the TA forums any more, and honestly I RT the messages more for your sake than because I'm interested in winning (don't get me wrong, I'm always up for free games). Besides, I really hadn't planned on winning given the effort some of these guys put in As long as the subject has been brought up, though, I'll post what I started and then deleted the other day. While all the potential publicity you're receiving via the tweets is great, you might consider capping the limit for reasons beyond "fairness". While many are probably quite tolerant of repeated tweets on the same topic, there are also many who consider it spam. You might inadvertently lose followers and also cause people participating in the contest to lose followers if you encourage too much tweeting. I could be way off base as well, but it's at least something to think about. Finally, a big thanks on the win! I'm now two games closer to my goal of owning every game on the App Store J/K, though sometimes it does feel like I'm headed that way.
Eric has nabbed Everlands and Build 'n Bash for his trouble. Thanks for playing and keep tweeting and posting! I'm gonna sit on the twitter issue for a few days and see how it goes. It's still early yet. If we have a couple of people who keep consistently dominate winning then I think it may be an issue, but so far the spread has been pretty fair so I am not too worried about it.
nah, i'm gonna take my words back and say, i'm gonna try it still few times. Edit: and gonna now start my tweeting.
