Basically saying you're not gonna play games anymore. It's a fair move to make but you could at least be clear about it ;)

Well said. I remember how I struggled for the first two months after getting my iTouch before I discovered TA. Thank heavens for that.

That said, I do think iOS gaming is pretty awesome. And charging a buck for a flash game is all right for me. I mean... if I buy it it would mean I really really want it. I have two such games. Solipskier and League of Evil. And both are really cool and am enjoying them a ton.

Just the getting used to the whole app store thing. Teething pains and nothing more. I remember one of my first games I bought was Cogs. I paid some 2$ i think and it had 10 puzzles which I solved in 15 min. And then the game said I needed to purchase more stuff. Oh the horror of IAP to a first time user. And in India App store very few games have reviews. Screenshots are absolutely useless. And initially I didn't even imagine that people posted videos of games online. So for the first couple of months my iPod was a music device more than anything else.

I'm pretty happy with iOS gaming.

I just sometimes wish I had the option of real controls for some games.

I just don't see how this has anything to do with Apple. You expect them to not approve a game because it's not fun? Do you realize how much crap they would get for that? It is only their job to make sure that an app does not do something that it does not intend to do, does not violate API usage, does not immediately crash, etc.

Here's a particularly horrific one for Tiny Wings:

"Its not that good all u do is touch the screen"

    1 star review.

True...however, Apple still needs much improvement in better quality control.

    Somewhere in your imagination
I dunno if anyone else mentioned this but... The worst thing about iPhone gaming is the endless list of crappy rip-off games. I'm not talking about Gameloft's rip-offs so much as Angry Bird rip-offs. And not enough companies are taking the iPhone seriously.

Except that's not true. Prices have been consistent from the very beginning in the appstore. Even the Android marketplace (or the Amazon Android market if you prefer going there)
has a lot less apps, but still have the same pricing as the appstore-in a lot of cases, cheaper.

    Nice try though.
