A little harsh I feel. PES 3-6 were decent games, however the recent ones have been very poor in comparison to FIFA of late.
LMAO. I bet you're new or have just started playing football game. PES was the one and only realistic football game. How was a hadouken-like shot in Fifa 2002/03 realistic? Even legends like Ronaldinho, Messi, Kaka or Totti all play PES. Fifa only relied on its massive cash and licenses, never on gameplay, physics, AI or controls. It's only in the past few years Konami got a SEGA-like self-destructive syndrome and Fifa sneaked past PES.
'Sneaked Past'? Not really, as FIFA has actually become good in 09 and 10 and has blown pes out of the water.
I agree, but it didn't happen overnight. FIFA has been getting better, learning slowly how to be a better game, while PES on the other hand slowly tries to kill itself and get rid of all the good things people love it for. Anyway, please don't pick me on exact use of terms as english isn't my first language.

The early years of PES were great. Even now, PES beats FIFA on the PSP and other hand-held consoles. On the PS3, Xbox and so on however, FIFA > PES (only just recently).

Ok I've got FIFA10 should I get this? I mean there's no point in 2 soccer/football games on my iPod, what does this have over FIFA10? Besides it being newer.
ive always felt PES as being an arcadey take of the sport. the early years were good but they havent managed to do anything big or even good for years now.. they even resorted to adding in diving.. shameful really its stood still and hasnt progressed. whereas FIFA moves forward every year, even tho its slow its great progress and is designed a lot better. i hate the chinese look of the menus if you know what i mean
But what I disliked about X2 Football 2009 was how easy it was to dribble straight down the middle of the ground and kick a goal.
