Mainly iPad, followed by 3GS. Gave 2nd gen iPod Touch to my sis and will be getting iPhone 4 when my current contract ends.

Have an iPad and iPhone 4

When it comes to gaming, mainly iPad (especially board games you can gather around with), but I also use my iphone 4 for many 'quickie' fun games that lack the depth of something like Civilization.

it's interesting to see how many people have 2nd and 3rd gen iPod Touches. But this poll should be redone with an option for the fake "3rd gen" 8gb iPod touch. Otherwise, it's not clear.

It's a bit hazard and a bit curiosity that made me buy an ipad. I didn't bought an ipad for gaming and didn't expected at all that gaming on the ipad would have killed so radically my gaming on PC/Mac and DS (XL), in fact mainly on PC.

There isn't much gaming on ipad it's almost only games designed for iphone and small screens. But it's still funny to be part of the beginning through a 1st gen device.

I'm curious to see how will evolves the gaming but I don't see it evolves well. I see the ipad gaming forever dominated by ipod/iphone gaming, itself largely used by kids of different age. So mainly an evolution to Japan Games which isn't my cup of tea. I don't see how the mainstream PC could integrate well because, out of indie, it's a long tradition of CPU and card usage, of super productions and more. And I don't see idevices evolves with enough power. And for indies mainly coming from Mac/PC I see them have more and more difficulties to to struggle with games with more production. Yeah I haven't visited the future, it's just my 2 cents feeling.

iPhone 3GS, although I have an original iPhone as a backup and for situations where two iDevices are needed

Still using my first gen iPod Touch. It's got some dust under the screen (at least I think it's dust; it could be some alien bacteria) and several dents and scratches. It was even dropped in a hot tub, and all that did was shrink the viewing angle a bit. Amazingly, lots of games like Helsing's Fire, Jet Car Stunts, Real Racing, THPS2, Meteor Blitz, and Super Quickhook still run smoothly on it, although I have given up on Gameloft games.

I think this is not curious at all. The IPad is a device you have to think about carrying. The IPhone is always with me. Thus the IPhone gets played more. Games look great on the IPad but don't always play better. The IPad is a better entertainment device but because of scaling issues on non-universal apps and the weight of it, I often even prefer the IPhone 4.

Great poll, can't remember one being made recently or if ever.
Nice to see some numbers on what we're using at this time.

This poll turned out just as I had expected. Apple is obviously just trying to pressure us to upgrade.

I've been hearing a few developers play down the importance of the iPod Touch 2G, some of them seem to think most people are beyond that. Perhaps they're forgetting it's only an old product in the magical Apple time-space continuum, but in real life... still pretty recent.

i have to agree.. which makes me wonder if the poor battery life due to iso4 update was not intentional. lol.. yeah i know apple would never do that.. but dang makes me wonder.. i did learn my lesson i will never jump on the os upgrade bandwagon again out of the gate ( granted i did have a few apps which i could not download cause i was running a older iso.. but man.. knowing what i know now about the battery life i get... id be ok.. just there loss of sales.. is how i will look at it ).. my ipod had great battery life compared to what i get now.. live and learn.. also most people i think waited for gen 2 ipod like i did.. same thing im doing with the ipad.. assuming i get one.. will def be gen 2 ipad.

    chris.

    p.s

do i wait a week to buy my ipod or buy the day after it comes out. im thinking if i waited a week we would know if it had any issues.

i def will not be waiting in line like the fools you see on the news to get it the first day it comes out.

I haven't noticed any battery issues since upgrading to iOS4 on my touch 3g. However I have the GM installed right now, and hope they upgrade to 4.1 soon cause I don't want to have to restore to the actual 4.0 right now and lose all my data.

Right now the GM version still seems to think its June every time I turn my touch off and back on :p It is mildly annoying.

As for upgrading - I'll wait at least another year or two before I upgrade. Retina display is nice, and even if the next iPod has a camera or two - it is not enough to get me to plop down another 300-400 dollars in the same year. :p
